There are a lot of problems at our church center and I thought before that it was my main job to give advice and solve problems for people and now I know that the better I am at listening the more effective I am as a leader.
From the PEACE BRIDGES course I learned that there is distinct process to follow in working with people: First, be quiet and let them tell their story. Allow them to hear it from themselves and then review it with them to be sure that I understand. I try to help them to think about and learn forgiveness.
